Social Services Sub-Committee Engages Transport Unions to Improve Services and Commuter Safety

The Social Services Sub-Committeein the Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly chaired by Hon. Saint Kabu, Assembly Member for Okesekor, has engaged transport unions in the municipality as part of efforts to assess their operations, identify challenges and explore measures to improve transport services and commuter safety.

The Sub-Committee, visited the Teshie First Junction, Tsuibleoo and Lascala Transport Unions to interact with operators and gain a better understanding of the challenges affecting their activities.

Hon. Kabu explained that the Committee’s mandate covers key areas including sanitation, health, markets, schools, transport, youth development and education. He said stakeholder engagements were therefore necessary to identify challenges and develop practical solutions that would improve the well-being of residents.

He noted that the interactions with the transport unions would help the Assembly better understand their concerns and identify areas where support and interventions were needed.

Prior to the engagement with the transport unions, the Social Services Sub-Committee had also toured selected pre-schools within the municipality to assess their condition, identify challenges and discuss possible measures to improve their operations and learning environment.
