The Bosomtwe District is one of the 261 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in Ghana, and forms part of the 43 of MMDAs in the Ashanti Region with Kuntanase as the administrative capital.

The Bosomtwe District is located at the central portion of the Ashanti Region and has a land size of 422.5sq km. It lies within latitudes 6º 43’ north and longitudes 1º 46’ West showing Bosomtwe District in the National and Regional context.

 

The Bosomtwe District is bounded on the north by Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, in the east by Ejisu Municipal, the south by Bekwai Municipal and Bosome Freho District, and in the west by Atwima Kwanwoma District.

 

The population of the District according to the 2021 Population and Housing Census stands at 165,180

with 80,428 males 84,752 females.
