The Okere District Assembly is one of the 261 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies in Ghana and forms part of the 33 Municipalities and Districts in Eastern Region.

It was carved out of the Akuapem North Municipal Assembly as one of the 38 newly created and upgraded Assemblies in 2018.

Created with LI 2342, the Okere District Assembly has its capital at Adukrom was inaugurated on March 15, 2018 alongside other 37 newly created districts, with an estimated land area of 311 square kilometers.  

The 2021 population census for the District stands at 51,675 comprising 24,582 males and 27,093 Females.
