The Suaman District is one the 261 Metroplitan, Munucipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in Ghana, and forms part of the 9 of Municipalities and Districts in Western North Region.

Suaman District with its administrative capital Dadieso was carved from Aowin/Suaman District and forms part of the new districts and municipalities created in the year 2012 and were inaugurated at their various locations simultaneously on the 28th June, 2012 by a Legislative Instrument (L.I.) 2016.

The district is located at the Mid-Western part of the Western Region and it covers a total land area of 3719square kilometres.

It shares common boundaries with Juaboso and Bodi Districts to the north, the Aowin Municipal to the south, Sefwi Akontombra District to the east and the Republic of La Cote D’Ivoire to the west.

The population of the District according to 2021 population and housing census stands at 38,268 with 20,607 males and 17,661 females.
