The New Juaben North Municipal Assembly is one of the 261 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies in Ghana and forms part of the 33 Municipalities and Districts in Eastern Region.

It was curved out of the New Juaben Municipal Assembly as one of the 38 newly created and upgraded districts Assemblies in 2018 and created with LI 2302, the  Juaben North Municipal Assembly with  its capital as Effiduase.

The Municipality was inaugurated on March 15, 2018 alongside other 37 newly created districts.   

The New Juaben North Municipal Assembly is located within the central part of the Eastern Region of Ghana and has a total surface area of 106 square kilometers.


It covers a total estimated surface area of 117 square kilometers


The Municipality is bounded by Abuakwa North Municipal in the north, New Juaben South Municipal in the south, Yilo Krobo Municipal in the east and Suhum Municipal in the west.


The population of the Municipality according to 2021 population and housing census stands at 93,201 with 46,402 males and 46,799 females.
