DCE presents KG furniture to Shama GES

The Shama District Assembly has presented some hexagonal tables and chairs to the District Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) for onward distribution to Kindergarten (KG) schools within the area.

The 320 tables and 1,920 chairs are to reduce furniture deficit and facilitate smooth teaching and learning process for KG pupils in the district.

Mr. Ebenezer Dadzie, the Shama District Chief Executive (DCE), who presented the items to the GES said the gesture reaffirmed government’s commitment to providing the necessary materials needed to promote quality education at all levels.

He said it was imperative to provide a conducive learning environment for the kids so they could successfully pass through all the stages to benefit from the government’s Free Senior High School programme.

“The New Patriotic Party government’s records in terms of education is unmatched, and this furniture we are presenting today reaffirms our full commitment to providing the best of education to our children,” he said.

Mr. Dadzie asked the leadership of the GES to prioritise schools that urgently needed the furniture in its distribution, while ensuring proper maintenance of the items.

Mr. Raphael Aidoo-Taylor, the Shama District Director of Education, receiving the furniture, expressed gratitude to the DCE and his team for the kind gesture, and said it would help improve kindergarten education in the district.

He said: “In fact, these tables and chairs have come at the right time because today being the day for resumption of schools, we are admitting more kids into our KG schools so this will help offer a better learning environment for them.”

He gave the assurance that the furniture would be equitably distributed to the schools to help serve their intended purpose.
