Noyem and Nwinso Unite for a Cleaner Environment

Despite the rains, residents of Noyem and Nwinso turned out in their numbers to participate in a successful National Sanitation Day clean-up exercise, demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental cleanliness and community development.

The exercise was led by the District Chief Executive, Hon. Hakeem Abdul Antwi, who was joined by the District Coordinating Director, Mr. Mark Addo, the District Environmental Officer and his team, the District Planning Officer, the District Engineer, and the Deputy Director of NADMO, political heads, unit committee members, and traditional authorities from both communities.

Participants engaged in extensive clean-up activities, including sweeping streets, desilting drains, clearing overgrown areas, and removing refuse from public spaces to improve sanitation and promote a healthier environment.

At Noyem, following the clean-up exercise, Hon. Hakeem Abdul Antwi commended residents for their dedication, resilience, and active participation in the initiative. He encouraged them to sustain the spirit of communal labour and continue prioritizing environmental cleanliness.

In support of an ongoing community development project, the DCE donated 100 bags of cement to the people of Noyem, reaffirming his commitment to supporting local development initiatives and improving the living conditions of residents.

The team later proceeded to Nwinso, where residents equally demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment to the exercise. Addressing the gathering, the DCE praised the community for its impressive turnout and support for the National Sanitation Day initiative, which forms part of the Government's broader efforts to promote a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment across the country.

Hon. Hakeem Abdul Antwi emphasized that maintaining a clean environment is a shared responsibility and called on residents to continue working together to uphold high sanitation standards in their communities.

The successful exercise highlighted the importance of collective action and community participation in achieving sustainable environmental sanitation and improving public health.
