Reports indicate that floodwaters submerged sections of key roads, making movement difficult for motorists, commercial drivers, and pedestrians.

The situation was particularly severe along parts of the Kasoa Ashalaja road, where a bridge was reportedly compromised by the heavy rains, leaving commuters stranded and causing major traffic disruptions.

Residents have expressed concerns about recurring flooding, citing inadequate drainage systems, choked gutters, and rapid urban development as contributing factors.

Local disaster management officials have also warned that some drains are too small to handle the volume of stormwater during intense rainfall events.

The flooding has renewed calls for urgent road rehabilitation, expansion of drainage infrastructure, regular desilting of drains, and stricter enforcement against indiscriminate dumping of refuse into waterways.

Authorities have urged residents living near drains and flood prone areas to remain vigilant as more rainfall is expanding.
