The commissioning, led by the Region’s first female Regional Minister, marks a bold step toward expanding access to quality and affordable healthcare in underserved communities. The ultra-modern facility is expected to dramatically reduce the burden on residents who previously had to travel long distances to access basic medical services.
With the new CHPS compound now operational, essential services including maternal and child healthcare, immunisation, outpatient care, and routine medical check-ups are now within easy reach for Amankwahkrom and its surrounding communities.
The project forms part of the government’s broader agenda to reset and strengthen Ghana’s primary healthcare system by bringing services closer to the people. Local residents have welcomed the development with excitement, describing it as a life-changing intervention that will improve health outcomes and save lives.
The Regional Minister expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Asunafo South District Assembly, the area’s Member of Parliament, traditional authorities, clergy, development partners, and community stakeholders whose collective support made the project a reality.
The commissioning of the Amankwahkrom CHPS Compound stands as a shining example of what collaboration, leadership, and community unity can achieve in advancing grassroots development.
