Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa Assembly, MP Support PWDs with Livelihood Equipment and Cash Assistance

The Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District Assembly, in collaboration with the Office of the Member of Parliament for the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa Constituency, Hon. Alhaji Alhassan Kobina Ghansah, has provided livelihood support to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the district.

The support package included industrial sewing machines, refrigerators, ice chests, spraying machines, fufu processing machines and cash assistance to help beneficiaries establish or expand income-generating activities.

The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts by the Assembly and the MP’s office to reduce economic hardship, promote entrepreneurship and empower vulnerable members of society to become economically independent.

Speaking on the intervention, the District leadership said delivering development that positively impacts lives remained at the heart of their service to the people.

The Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to implementing initiatives that create opportunities, empower individuals and ensure that Persons with Disabilities and other vulnerable groups are actively included in the development agenda.

The intervention is expected to improve the livelihoods of beneficiaries and contribute to building a more inclusive and economically empowered Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District.
