The exercise was aimed at assessing the condition of drains, waterways, and other vulnerable areas to identify potential flood risks and implement timely interventions to protect lives and property.
During the inspection, Hon. Adongo stressed the need for collective action in addressing the perennial challenge of flooding. He called on residents to desist from dumping refuse into drains and waterways and cautioned against unauthorized developments on watercourses, describing such practices as major contributors to flooding.
The MCE reaffirmed the Assembly's commitment to reducing flood incidents through intensified public education, strict enforcement of environmental and planning regulations, and strengthened collaboration with relevant institutions and stakeholders.
He further assured residents that the Assembly would continue to prioritize proactive measures aimed at safeguarding communities and enhancing environmental responsibility across the municipality.
The inspection forms part of the New Juaben North Municipal Assembly's broader strategy to strengthen disaster preparedness, improve resilience, and minimize the adverse effects of seasonal flooding within the municipality.
