The ceremony marked the commencement of construction works at Darul Hadith Islamic School, Darkuman Junior High School, and Kwashiebu Clinic, underscoring the Assembly’s commitment to improving access to quality education and healthcare.
Education Infrastructure Boost
At Darul Hadith Islamic School, work has begun on a two-storey, four-unit Kindergarten block with ancillary facilities. The project is expected to provide a safe, modern, and child-friendly learning environment that supports early childhood development.
Meanwhile, Darkuman Junior High School will benefit from a two-storey vertical extension comprising an eight-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities. The expansion aims to decongest classrooms, enhance teaching and learning, and improve overall academic outcomes.
Healthcare Access Strengthened
In the health sector, the sod-cutting at Kwashiebu signalled the start of construction of a clinic compound, which will expand healthcare infrastructure and bring quality medical services closer to residents, particularly vulnerable populations.
Dignitaries in Attendance
The ceremony was graced by several distinguished personalities, including the Member of Parliament for Ablekuma North, Hon. Ewurabena Aubynn, and the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Kalamu Musah Adamu, alongside government appointees, Assembly Members, traditional authorities, Islamic leaders, and residents of the municipality.
Commitment to National Development Agenda
Speaking at the event, municipal officials described the projects as a clear demonstration of government’s commitment to delivering on development promises and investing in the social foundations of communities. The initiatives align with H.E. John Dramani Mahama’s “Rebuilding Our Nation” agenda, which prioritises education and healthcare as drivers of inclusive growth.
When completed, the projects are expected to improve learning environments, expand healthcare access, and enhance the quality of life for residents of Ablekuma North.
The sod-cutting ceremony marks the beginning of construction works that will not only transform physical infrastructure but also create opportunities and strengthen community well-being across the municipality.
