Atiwa East Assembly Holds Second Ordinary Meeting to Address Development Challenges

The Atiwa East District Assembly has held its Second Ordinary General Assembly Meeting and Third Sitting of the Third Assembly, with members deliberating on a number of issues affecting the development and administration of the district.

The meeting provided an opportunity for Assembly Members, Management and Heads of Department to review ongoing matters, assess progress and identify measures to address challenges confronting various communities.

Members reviewed and adopted the minutes of the previous meeting before considering several outstanding issues, including the construction of speed humps, renovation of the new lorry station, regulation of commercial vehicle operators and the repair of faulty streetlights in some communities.

The Assembly also deliberated on the reconstitution of committees, staff accommodation and the need to improve transportation and logistics for departments undertaking field operations.

Particular attention was given to the provision of motorcycles for Environmental Health personnel, who require reliable means of transportation to effectively carry out their duties across the district.

Another major issue discussed was the growing problem of stray animals in some communities. Members agreed that measures to address the situation would commence in Anyinam before being extended to other parts of the district, with the Sanitation Task Force expected to support the exercise.

The meeting further underscored the importance of effective implementation of decisions taken by the Assembly to ensure that deliberations translate into tangible development outcomes for residents.

Members were therefore encouraged to strengthen collaboration among Assembly Members, Management and Heads of Department in addressing development challenges and advancing the district’s development agenda.

The sitting ended with a renewed commitment to collective action and improved coordination to enhance service delivery and promote sustainable development across the Atiwa East District.
