He said unity of purpose was essential to promoting development and improving the living conditions of residents.
Mr Ibrahim, who is also the Minister of Works, Housing and Water Resources, made the call when he addressed the chiefs and people of Sarbie, a community in the constituency, after inspecting ongoing development projects in the area.
He said peace and unity remained prerequisites for development, adding that a united community could achieve its development aspirations more effectively.
“Local communities can accomplish more when we come and work together as one people with common goals and aspirations,” he said.
Mr Ibrahim was in the constituency as part of his “Accounting to the People” tour, during which he handed over a renovated health centre to the Sarbie community and inspected ongoing projects, including a police station and a school block.
He also inspected the progress of work on roads, a football pitch, staff bungalows, school blocks, police stations, Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds and KVIP toilet facilities in Dorbor, Bofie, Banda Boase and Biema.
Mr Ibrahim said he remained committed to being accountable to the people, stressing that he wanted residents to assess his stewardship while he was still in office.
“I don’t want to leave office before you question my stewardship,” he said.
He pledged to ensure that development projects were equitably distributed among communities in the constituency to improve the living conditions of the people.
Mr Ibrahim further appealed to residents to support and cooperate with the government to advance the development of the Banda District.
Mr Joseph Addae Akwaboa, Bono Regional Minister, said successive National Democratic Congress (NDC) administrations had remained committed to the development of the district, dating back to the administration of the late former President Jerry John Rawlings.
Nana Sie Manaa I, Chief of Sarbie, commended the government for its efforts to improve development in the area.
He, however, expressed concern about the deplorable condition of roads in the community and appealed to the government to reshape them.
Nana Sie Manaa I also appealed for the renovation of the Sarbie Roman Catholic Basic School to improve teaching and learning and enhance the academic performance of pupils.
