Kpedze–Ashanti Kpoeta Road to Get Emergency Repairs as Reconstruction Looms

The deteriorating Kpedze–Ashanti Kpoeta road is set for urgent repairs following the awarding of a rehabilitation contract, according to Ho West Member of Parliament Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah.

The already poor road has worsened significantly after recent heavy rains, carving deep gullies along multiple sections and making travel increasingly difficult for residents and commuters.

During a working visit to assess the damage firsthand, Bedzrah assured local communities that repair work would begin soon to ease immediate hardship. He noted that while the road has been earmarked for full reconstruction under a World Bank-funded project, an emergency repair contract has already been issued.

“The road will be fixed within the shortest possible time,” the MP said, citing assurances from the contractor assigned to the project.

Bedzrah was accompanied on the inspection tour by the District Chief Executive (DCE) and the District Engineer, who jointly evaluated the extent of the damage and the urgency of the needed interventions.
