Mr Pimbo, who is serving his second term as Presiding Member, had been without an office until the District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr Welfred Zuuri, and the District Coordinating Director handed over the facility to him.
At a short but colourful handing-over ceremony, the DCE emphasised the need for the PM to have a dedicated office in accordance with the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936).
He said Assembly Members played a key role in the development of the district and, therefore, the PM deserved to have an office to effectively discharge his responsibilities.
“Assembly members play a key role in the development of the district. For that matter, there was the need for him to have his own office long ago, but due to some challenges, it has now been completed,” he said.
Mr Pimbo expressed profound gratitude to the District Assembly for providing the office.
He said the facility had come at a time when he least expected it, adding that it would serve not only him but also all Assembly Members and the general public.
“The office complex has come when I did not expect it, but this office is not for me alone; it is for all Assembly members in the district and the general public,” he said.
He promised to maintain the office and ensure that it was used for the benefit of the Kintampo South District Assembly and the people of the district.
