Date Created : 5/20/2026 : Story Author : Irene Danso/Ghanadistricts.com
The MCE raised concerns over the state of the facility, which has reportedly remained uncompleted for some time despite the resources committed to the project.
According to the report, the abandoned structure has begun to deteriorate, raising concerns about the loss of public resources and the potential impact on the community.
The MCE therefore appealed to the National Security to investigate the project to establish what led to its abandonment and determine whether there were any irregularities surrounding its execution.
The facility was originally expected to provide a useful space for young people in the area and support youth development activities.
The deteriorating state of the project has also created environmental and safety concerns. A large pit located close to the facility has reportedly become a breeding ground for mosquitoes, insects and reptiles, posing a potential risk to residents within the vicinity.
The call for an investigation is expected to help establish responsibility and provide direction on the way forward for the project. The development has also renewed calls for greater accountability in the implementation of public projects, particularly those intended to provide social and economic benefits to local communities.
