The seedlings were presented to the Municipal Agric Director at a brief ceremony held at the Assembly, for onward distribution to beneficiary farmers.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Yeaboah indicated that the intervention aligns with the agricultural agenda of John Dramani Mahama, which seeks to enhance food production and provide support to farmers across the country.

He urged farmers to adhere strictly to the guidance and technical directions provided by Agricultural Extension Officers to ensure the success of the initiative.

“The President has good plans for our farmers, but the support will only yield results if we follow the right agronomic practices,” he emphasized.

The MCE further disclosed that steps have been taken to secure fertilizer supplies for farmers in the municipality, assuring that beneficiaries will be duly informed once the consignment arrives.

To promote transparency and accountability, he revealed plans to conduct unannounced visits to farms, accompanied by the media, to monitor the proper use of the seedlings and compliance with recommended practices.

Receiving the seedlings, the Municipal Agric Director expressed gratitude to the MCE for the timely intervention and promptly coordinated their distribution to farmers, who transported them to their respective farms.

The initiative is expected to significantly enhance crop production and improve livelihoods within the Abuakwa North Municipality.
