The exercise, dubbed “site meetings,” formed part of efforts to assess the status of projects and ensure quality delivery.

The team visited project sites in several communities, including Asuokor Oseikrom, Adiembra, Mpasaso I and II, Oseikrom, Wioso, Barniekrom, Kunsu, Afreseni, Sikafrebogya, Mankranso, and Asuoabena.

Projects inspected included boreholes fitted with hand pumps at Asuokor Oseikrom, Adiembra, and Mankranso; classroom blocks at Manhyia D/A Basic School, Mpasaso II D/A Primary School, Oseikrom D/A Primary School, and Kunsu SDA Basic School; and a community centre at Mpasaso I.

Other facilities visited were institutional latrines at Wioso, Barniekrom, Kunsu, Afreseni, and Mankranso; a Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound with staff quarters at Afreseni; a mechanised borehole at Sikafrebogya; and a high-capacity water system at Mankranso Senior High School.

The team also inspected a health project at the Wioso Health Centre, involving the construction of male, female, and children’s wards, as well as an isolation unit.

Speaking during the tour, Mr. Sedik expressed satisfaction with the pace of work at most of the project sites and commended contractors for their efforts.

He assured them of the Assembly’s readiness to honour payment obligations upon the successful completion of the projects and reiterated its commitment to timely delivery and adherence to required standards to improve the living conditions of residents.

Ms. Beatrice Oteng, District Works Engineer, also expressed satisfaction with the quality of work but noted minor defects at some sites.

She said contractors had been directed to rectify the defects to ensure full compliance with project specifications.

The inspection forms part of the Assembly’s strategy to strengthen supervision, ensure value for money, and accelerate development in the district.
