The exercise formed part of the Municipal Assembly’s commitment to effective project monitoring, accountability and prudent management of public resources.

The inspection gave  the delegation an opportunity to assess project progress, observe the quality and state of works, identify challenges requiring attention, and engage relevant stakeholders on measures needed to ensure the projects serve their intended purpose.

The delegation visited the Agavenya Health Centre, where the MCE and Common Fund officials assessed the progress of works and inspected the facility’s various components. Attention was given to the general state of construction, the quality of work and the facility’s readiness to support healthcare delivery upon completion.

The health facility is expected to improve access to healthcare services for residents of Agavenya and adjoining communities. The delegation commended Hon. Owusu Boakye for his efforts to provide the facility and underscored its importance to healthcare delivery.

The inspection team also proceeded to the Koforidua Galloway Police Training Centre, where a completed kindergarten classroom block was inspected. The delegation assessed the state of the works and the quality of materials used on the project, and expressed satisfaction.

The delegation called for proper maintenance of all completed facilities and tasked management to ensure continued monitoring of ongoing works to ensure adherence to approved standards, specifications and timelines.

Hon. Owusu Boakye also used the opportunity to appeal to the Common Fund delegation to help complete other projects that have been left unfinished for a long time, citing the Koforidua School for the Deaf staff bungalow as an example.
