Water supply in the district is sourced from multiple systems including pipe-borne water, boreholes, rainwater harvesting, bottled and sachet water, as well as a number of rivers and streams scattered across various communities.

Stakeholders note that access to water in the district is generally not a major challenge, as most communities are served through a combination of public and private water supply systems, ensuring residents have multiple options for their daily water needs.

The presence of boreholes and pipe-borne water systems has particularly improved access in rural communities, reducing the burden of long-distance water collection and improving hygiene and sanitation practices.

However, development partners and local authorities continue to encourage further investment in sustainable water infrastructure to ensure consistent supply, especially during dry seasons and in fast-growing communities.

The Assembly has reaffirmed its commitment to expanding water infrastructure to guarantee safe, reliable, and affordable water for all residents as part of its broader development agenda.
