Denkyembour Assembly Commissions Four-Bedroom Teachers’ Quarters at Dwenase

The Denkyembour District Assembly has commissioned a newly constructed four-bedroom teachers’ quarters at Dwenase as part of efforts to improve educational infrastructure and enhance the welfare of teachers in the district.

The facility, commissioned by the District Chief Executive (DCE), is expected to address accommodation challenges faced by teachers in Dwenase and surrounding communities while creating a more conducive environment for effective teaching and learning.

The commissioning ceremony brought together representatives of the District Assembly, traditional authorities, education officials, teachers, community members and other stakeholders.

The newly constructed accommodation is expected to reduce the difficulties teachers face commuting to and from work, thereby improving punctuality, attendance and teacher retention.

Speaking at the ceremony, the DCE expressed appreciation to all stakeholders who contributed to the successful completion of the project.

He highlighted the important role teachers play in shaping the future of children and stressed that providing them with decent accommodation was essential to creating an enabling environment for effective teaching and learning.

According to the DCE, the project demonstrates the Assembly’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure while supporting the welfare and working conditions of teachers across the district.

He called on the teachers who would occupy the facility and residents of Dwenase to take ownership of the property and ensure its proper maintenance.

The DCE urged the beneficiaries to use the facility responsibly and maintain it in good condition, while appealing to the community to protect the investment against damage, misuse and other activities that could undermine its intended purpose.

Traditional Authority Commends Assembly

A Sub-Chief of Dwenase, speaking on behalf of the traditional authority and residents, expressed appreciation to the District Chief Executive and the Assembly for responding to the accommodation needs of teachers in the community.

He described the project as an important investment in the educational development of Dwenase, noting that quality education required not only qualified teachers but also adequate infrastructure and a supportive working environment.

The Sub-Chief assured the Assembly of the traditional authority’s commitment to protecting and maintaining the facility.

He also appealed to residents to regard the teachers’ quarters as a community asset and work together to prevent damage or misuse.

The traditional authority further called for continued collaboration between the District Assembly, traditional leaders and the community to address other development needs in Dwenase.

The commissioning of the four-bedroom teachers’ quarters marks another step in the Assembly’s efforts to improve educational infrastructure and teacher welfare.

By providing accommodation close to their place of work, the facility is expected to reduce commuting challenges and costs while improving teacher availability and punctuality, ultimately contributing to better teaching and learning outcomes in the community.
