Light Industrial Area

The Municipality has a light industrial area currently under development sited at Adukrom on a 24 acre land located along the main road, 500 meters from the Axim Junction (Ayisakro). It currently hosts wood workers and garages operators with doted other general services. Efforts exist to reform the industrial area into a major economic hub with the capacity to serve the entire coastal area with critical, specialized and common services ranging from industrial, commercial, service to partial residential.

The Municipal Assembly started a new Municipal market for the southern half situated at the Light industrial Area with the provision of lockable shops and a market shed. The focus is to establish the base for a trading center where buying and selling on large scale can occur at least once a week.In the Long term, the Municipality wishes to attain a daily market status.

 Fishing Harbor Project

The construction of the fishing harbor comes in as one of the inspiring and strategic inputs to the efforts by the Municipal Assembly and its stakeholders at promoting LocalEconomic Development (LED) within the Nzema East Municipal. As part of extended investment to further realize the total goal of the harbor it has become necessary for the provision of additional services including a modern market along the coast of theMunicipality.

This is scheduled to be implemented as the first phase of a larger project that encompasses other socio-economic facilities and service as necessary and key complements of thefishing harbor project. The first phase is proposed and a multi-purpose modern market and shopping center to serve as a designated fish and producemarket and a one stop pointfor economicand service delivery and business hub in the municipality.
