Nzema East to get bamboo and coconut factory - Dr. Bawumia

The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has given the indication of a possible siting of bamboo and coconut processing factory in the Nzema East Municipality of the Western Region under the “One district, one factory” policy of the New Patriotic Party government.

This disclosure came up when the Vice President was addressing the good people during the Annual Kundum festival   and 50th Anniversary celebration of the enstoolment of the Omanhene of the Nsein Traditional Area, Awulae Agyefi Kwame II.  

 Dr Mahamudu Bawumia stated that raw material for production are in abundant in the area, hence the need to build the factory in the Municipality to add value to these raw materials for better returns.

 According to the Vice President, government will work to harness economic potentials of the area to the fullest.

“The opportunities and potentials of this part of the country are really truly amazing. Tourism potential is great; we have the gas pipeline passing right through this town, so, energy requirements to set up factories are not going to be a challenge”, he disclosed.
