The initiative forms part of the Assembly’s broader commitment to ensuring safer, more accessible, and durable road networks, particularly within inner communities.

The exercise, which began yesterday, focused on the upgrading of selected inner roads that had deteriorated due to prolonged use and weather conditions. The road reshaping works were aimed at improving accessibility, easing vehicular movement, and providing better driving conditions for motorists and pedestrians alike.

Key areas covered during the exercise included the stretch from St. Anthony Junction to St. Anthony Down, as well as portions of New Sakumono.

The works involved grading and reshaping the road surface to restore proper alignment and improve drainage. The activity was successfully completed within the scheduled time, and the affected roads have since seen a significant improvement in condition, making them safer and more convenient for public use.

Speaking on the development, the Municipal Chief Executive, Solomon Brako Kusi, emphasized the Assembly’s commitment to improving infrastructure across the municipality.

He noted that the road reshaping exercise is part of a phased programme designed to address challenges associated with poor road conditions, especially in densely populated areas.

He further assured residents that additional road improvement works will continue as scheduled in other parts of the municipality.

According to him, the ongoing interventions are intended to enhance road safety, reduce wear and tear on vehicles, and improve the overall quality of life for residents.

Residents and road users in the affected areas have welcomed the initiative, expressing appreciation for the timely intervention and calling for the continuation of similar projects across other inner roads within the municipality.
