Addressing participants, Dr. Amoakohene outlined directives guiding the exercise and stressed the need for Assemblies to verify relevant certificates, licences, and permits of businesses before issuing operational stickers.

He noted that the move would promote compliance, accountability, and fairness in the administration of local levies.

The Minister also used the opportunity to brief stakeholders on the government’s cooperative mining initiative, which seeks to promote responsible, community-based mining while safeguarding the environment and livelihoods.
