Date Created : 4/13/2026 : Story Author : Jerry Azanduna/Ghanadistricts.com
Nana Elder Daniel Kwadwo Sekyere, Chief of Nyansuaka in the Techiman North District, said the deplorable condition of the roads was making the area unattractive to investors.
He noted that development in the area had lagged behind, expressing concern that many health workers, trained teachers, and other government employees had declined postings to the community due to poor road access and lack of accommodation.
Nana Sekyere made the appeal during a durbar to mark the first anniversary of his enstoolment at Nyansuaka. He also expressed worry that farmers in the area were unable to transport their farm produce to market centres because of the poor road conditions.
He added that post-harvest losses remained high, and the absence of a police post in the community made it difficult for security personnel to respond promptly to crime, largely due to the bad roads.
Nana Sekyere further indicated that the community required a fire station to help respond to increasing fire outbreaks. He also appealed for government support to address the perennial water shortage affecting residents.
Mr. Obed Amoah, an opinion leader in the area, expressed concern about the rapid population growth and called on the government to establish a youth development centre.
He noted that substance abuse and alcoholism among the youth were on the rise and stressed the need for immediate intervention to help shape their future and promote responsible behaviour.
