The initiative, held at Faase Gardens forms part of the Assembly’s efforts to promote social inclusion, economic empowerment and sustainable livelihoods among PWDs in the municipality.

Of the 66 beneficiaries, 33 males and 33 females benefited from the programme. While 50 beneficiaries received cash support totalling GH¢227,347, 16 others received livelihood items valued at GH¢125,760.

The items included freezers, a display fridge, a laptop, sewing and knitting machines, ovens and an electric motor for a grinding machine. The support is expected to enable beneficiaries to establish or expand businesses in areas such as trading, food processing, tailoring, baking and other small-scale enterprises.

Speaking at the event, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Hon. Alfredos  Nii Anyetei  urged beneficiaries to use the assistance responsibly and take proper care of the items to ensure they generate sustainable income and improve their livelihoods.
