Ayawaso East Begins 11.27km Asphaltic Overlay Project to Improve Road Infrastructure

The Ayawaso East Municipal Assembly has officially commenced an Asphaltic Overlay Project aimed at improving road infrastructure and enhancing mobility within the municipality.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Ayawaso East, Hon. Abdul Ganiyu Ibrahim, together with the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East, Hon. Baba Jamal, Assembly Members and the contractor, met to officially mark the commencement of the project.

The project will cover 19 roads, with a combined length of approximately 11,270 metres. The works will include asphaltic overlay, resurfacing, sectional repairs and pothole patching, depending on the condition of each road.

The roads earmarked for the project are:

  2. Alhaji Norga Street
  3. Torgbor Link
  4. Mallam Futa Road / Mallam Suraqa
  5. Rev. Dogbe Street
  6. Mallam Kamarudeen / Nima Hospital Road
  7. Alhaji Mayaki Street
  8. Yaya Seidu Street
  9. Islamic Research Street
  10. Chief Tanko Street / Imam Amadu
  11. Amasscy Commey Street / Mallam Hamza
  12. Chief Ali Kado & Links
  13. Hill Street
  14. Oku Street
  15. Al-Waleed Bin Talal Highway
  16. Sal Valley
  17. Sal Valley Close
  18. Mole Street
  19. Mallam Mutala

The Assembly expressed appreciation to the President of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, and the Minister for Roads and Highways, Hon. Kwame Governs Agbodza, for their support towards improving road infrastructure across the country.

According to the Assembly, the project forms part of its broader commitment to providing quality infrastructure, improving accessibility and mobility, and creating safer roads for residents and commuters.
