MP Supports Savannah Region Inter-District Sports Competition with Cash, Sports Kits and Streetlights

The Member of Parliament for the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba Constituency, Hon. Andrew Dari Chiwitey, has demonstrated his commitment to youth development and sports promotion by supporting the ongoing Savanna Region Inter-District Sports Competition being hosted in Sawla.

Hon. Chiwitey, accompanied by some members of the constituency executives, attended the opening ceremony of the competition, where he encouraged participating athletes and young people to take sports seriously and make the most of the opportunities it offers.

He noted that sports could serve as a powerful avenue for talent development, discipline, education and career advancement, urging the athletes to remain focused, disciplined and committed to their respective sporting disciplines.

As part of his support for the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District team, Hon. Chiwitey donated four sets of jerseys and sporting kits covering football, athletics, handball and table tennis. He also presented streetlights and a cash donation of GH?20,000 to assist the district team with its participation in the competition.

In addition, Hon. Chiwitey, on behalf of the Savanna Region MPs Caucus, presented GH?10,000 towards the organisation of the competition.

The MP further donated seven sets of jerseys and seven footballs to be distributed among the participating teams to enhance their participation and promote fair sporting development across the region.

The interventions by Hon. Chiwitey underscore his continued commitment to supporting young people, promoting sporting talent and contributing to community development within the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba Constituency and the Savanna Region as a whole.

The Savanna Region Inter-District Sports Competition brings together young athletes from districts across the region to compete in various sporting disciplines while promoting unity, talent development and healthy competition among the youth.
