Birim North DCE Hakeem Antwi Abdul Supports Abenaso Community Self-Help Project

The Birim North District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Hakeem Antwi Abdul, has supported an ongoing community self-help project at Abenaso with roofing sheets and bags of cement to facilitate the completion of the initiative.

The items were presented to the community by the DCE during a visit to Abenaso, where he was accompanied by the District Coordinating Director, political heads and a representative of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO).

The intervention forms part of the Birim North District Assembly’s efforts to encourage community-led development initiatives and complement government interventions in addressing infrastructure needs at the grassroots.

Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Hakeem Antwi Abdul commended the people of Abenaso for mobilising themselves to undertake the project, describing their collective effort as a demonstration of community ownership and commitment to development.

He encouraged residents to maintain the spirit of unity and continue contributing towards the successful completion of the project.

The DCE noted that community self-help initiatives were important in supplementing the efforts of the District Assembly, particularly in areas where residents had identified projects as priorities for their communities.

He assured the people of Abenaso that the Assembly would continue to work closely with communities and support development initiatives that have the potential to improve living conditions and promote sustainable development.

The people of Abenaso expressed their appreciation to Hon. Hakeem Antwi Abdul and the Birim North District Assembly for the support, saying the materials would give the project a significant boost.

They pledged to continue mobilising resources and working together to ensure the successful completion of the project.

The support further demonstrates the Assembly’s commitment to promoting participatory development, community ownership and stronger collaboration between local authorities and residents in the Birim North District.
