The visit was aimed at assessing the current condition of the road, which has deteriorated significantly over the years, causing difficulties for motorists, commuters, and residents who use the route.

During the inspection, the team examined critical sections of the road and discussed plans for its rehabilitation as part of efforts to improve transportation and enhance economic activities within the municipality.

Hon. Philibert Selorm Fummey expressed concern about the deplorable state of the road and assured residents that steps are being taken to address the challenges facing the corridor.

He noted that through the commitment and leadership of His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, the Minister for Roads and Highways, Hon. Governs Kwame Agbodza, and the Municipal Assembly, the road is expected to undergo major upgrading works.

According to the MCE, the proposed intervention will see the road reconstructed to asphaltic standards, providing a more durable and reliable road network for residents and road users.

He emphasized that the project will not only improve accessibility and reduce travel time but will also support economic growth and enhance the movement of goods and services within the municipality.

Residents and commuters have welcomed the development and expressed optimism that the rehabilitation of the Akraman–Pakro Road will bring lasting relief and improve transportation in the area.

The inspection forms part of the Assembly's broader commitment to improving infrastructure and promoting socio-economic development across the municipality.
