The humanitarian intervention forms part of the Assembly's ongoing efforts to support families whose homes and livelihoods were impacted by the floods. The exercise reflects the government's commitment to ensuring that vulnerable households receive timely assistance during emergencies.

The relief package was made possible through the support of H.E. President John Dramani Mahama and the LaDMA Trust, who facilitated the procurement of essential household items to help affected families begin the recovery process. Beneficiaries received mattresses, blankets, bags of rice, cooking oil, sardines, tomato paste, mosquito nets, cups, buckets, plates, tea bags, spaghetti, washing basins, and other essential supplies.

To ensure fairness and accountability, officers of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) supervised the sorting and distribution of the relief items. The exercise was carried out in an orderly and transparent manner, with all registered beneficiaries receiving their allocated items.

The distribution was attended by the Member of Parliament, the Municipal Chief Executive, the Presiding Member, Assembly Members, officials of NADMO, and staff of the La Dade-Kotopon Municipal Assembly. Their presence underscored the collective commitment of government and local authorities to supporting residents during times of crisis.

Addressing beneficiaries during the exercise, the Municipal Chief Executive reaffirmed the Assembly's commitment to safeguarding the welfare of residents through prompt emergency response interventions.

He noted that the government remains dedicated to providing relief to communities affected by natural disasters while strengthening measures aimed at improving disaster preparedness and resilience. Residents were also encouraged to observe safety precautions throughout the rainy season and to cooperate with relevant authorities in efforts to reduce the impact of flooding.

On behalf of the beneficiaries, community members expressed profound appreciation to H.E. President John Dramani Mahama, the LaDMA Trust, Hon. Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, Hon. Alfredos Nii Anyetei, and all stakeholders whose support brought much-needed relief to affected families.
