The presentation ceremony, held on 5 August 2026, brought together Assembly officials, representatives of disability groups, traditional leaders, community members, and the beneficiaries. The initiative forms part of the Assembly's broader efforts to promote inclusive development by ensuring that persons with disabilities have access to resources that enable them to become economically self reliant.

The beneficiaries received a combination of 500Gghs cash and livelihood support items like deep freezers, popcorn machine, washing machine wheel chair and many other things which will tailor to their individual needs and business interests. The assistance is expected to help them establish new enterprises, expand existing businesses, acquire vocational tools, and improve their incoming generating activities.

Addressing the gathering, both the MP Baba Jamal and Municipal chief Executive Abdul Ganiyu Ibrahim, said the support was not intended as charity but as an investment in the potential of persons with disabilities. They noted that when provided with the right opportunities and resources, persons with disabilities can make significant contributions to the local economy and the overall development of the Municipality.

The Assembly also encouraged beneficiaries to use the funds and equipment responsibly to strengthen their businesses, improve their livelihoods, and create sustainable sources of income for themselves and their families. Beneficiaries were urged to maintain proper records, invest wisely, and ensure that the support translates into long-term economic growth.

Representatives of the disability advocacy groups expressed appreciation to the Assembly for the intervention, describing it as a timely initiative that would help improve the living conditions of many beneficiaries. They called for continued collaboration between the Assembly and disability organizations to ensure that future support reaches those who need it most.

Some beneficiaries shared their gratitude, explaining that the assistance would enable them to expand their businesses, increase productivity, and reduce financial hardship. They pledged to make good use of the resources provided and to serve as examples of successful entrepreneurship within their communities.

The Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to promoting social inclusion and equitable development by ensuring that persons with disabilities remain active participants in the Municipality's economic and social progress.
