The Pumpum River, cascading 70 meters down rocky steps to form the breathtaking Kintampo Waterfalls, continues its journey toward the Black Volta at Buipe, while the Fuller Falls, located just 7km west of Kintampo, offers visitors a refreshing swim in a natural pool surrounded by stool-like carved rocks.
These attractions have become tourism, commerce thrives through weekly markets at Kintampo, Babatorkuma, Dawadawa, Gulumpe, New Longoro, and Kunsu, which draw communities together on Wednesdays, Sundays, Fridays, and Saturdays. While Kintampo and Babatorkuma boast well-constructed market facilities, other areas rely on open-air setups, yet these gatherings remain vital for trade and social interaction. Supporting this economic activity are banking institutions such as Ghana Commercial Bank, National Investment Bank, and Kintampo Rural Bank, all located in the municipal capital.

Transport is anchored by five lorry stations, four in Kintampo and one at Babatorkuma, connecting passengers to destinations including Tamale, Techiman, Sunyani, and Kumasi. However, poor feeder roads make travel to hinterlands difficult on non-market days. Connectivity is strengthened by telecom giants Vodafone, MTN, and Airtel/Tigo, which cover about 80% of the municipality, alongside a single Post Office in Kintampo that continues to serve as a traditional communication hub.
Kintampo Municipal is a place where waterfalls fuel tourism, markets drive trade, banks anchor finance, and telecom networks keep communities connected. It is a district where nature and commerce flow hand in hand, shaping a future of opportunity and growth.
