Offinso North Assembly Exceeds 95% of Annual IGF Target at First Ordinary Meeting

District Chief Executive Hon. Caesar Ofosu Acheampong revealed the figures during the First Ordinary Meeting of the Third Session of the Assembly in the Ashanti Region.
While celebrating the strong performance, the DCE stressed that the Assembly will not relent. “We will continue to vigorously pursue prudent measures to mobilize even more revenue,” he said.
External funding and government transfers
On external funding, Hon. Acheampong reported that the Assembly received GHC 14,386,228.25 in actual transfers from the Government of Ghana.
Agriculture: from way of life to business
Calling agriculture the backbone of the local economy, the DCE outlined a vision to transform farming from a subsistence activity into a viable business enterprise.
Education: modern facilities and BECE numbers
A total of 1,551 candidates across the district wrote the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) at five centres. The Assembly continues to invest in the next generation through the provision of modern educational facilities, Hon. Acheampong added.
LEAP validation and support for vulnerable groups
During this year’s LEAP validation exercise, reassessment teams visited 57 communities and re-evaluated 1,696 LEAP and non-LEAP households.
· 160 indigent persons were enrolled onto the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS)
· GHC 338,000 was disbursed to 125 persons with disabilities in the district.
A call for unity
Hon. Acheampong appealed to Assembly members to continue working as one people with a common goal, respecting divergent views and remaining committed to the development of the district.
