Hope for PWDs: 40 Beneficiaries Receive Equipment and Cash Support in Prestea Huni-Valley

Forty Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality have received livelihood support items and financial assistance aimed at enhancing their economic independence and improving their quality of life.

The intervention, spearheaded by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Mathew Ayeh, and the Member of Parliament (MP), Hon. Robert Wisdom Quodjoe, was carried out through the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development.

The beneficiaries were presented with various income-generating and mobility-support equipment, including 15 deep freezers, one fufu processing machine, three spraying machines, and three wheelchairs, alongside financial assistance to support their businesses and daily needs.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the municipal authorities reiterated their commitment to promoting inclusivity and empowering vulnerable groups within the municipality. They emphasized that the support package forms part of ongoing efforts to equip PWDs with sustainable livelihood opportunities and reduce economic hardship.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Assembly and the MP for the timely intervention, noting that the assistance would significantly improve their ability to earn a living and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

The initiative underscores the municipality's dedication to ensuring that no one is left behind in the local development agenda.
