The meeting, held at the District Assembly, saw Pastor Gomes lead a delegation of officials to explore areas of collaboration and reaffirm his commitment to the socio-economic growth of the area.

A history of giving

Pastor Gomes is no stranger to the district. In 2013, he supported local healthcare bysupplying hospital equipment to the Aburaso Methodist Hospital, as well as health centres in Trabuom and Foase.

During the recent discussions, the pastor underscored the importance of humanitarian service, describing it as a responsibility everyone should strive to uphold.

“Serving the needs of humanity is a duty we all share,” he said, while indicating his readiness to support further initiatives that would positively impact residents’ lives.

DCE calls for diaspora support Hon. Grace Agyemang Asamoah warmly received the delegation and expressed

profound gratitude for the pastor’s sustained support over the years.

She used the opportunity to appeal to other Ghanaians living abroad and friends of the district in the diaspora to emulate Pastor Gomes’ example.

“Government alone cannot shoulder the entire development burden, given the vast nature and growing needs of the district,” she stated. “Collaborative efforts from individuals, philanthropists, and development partners are essential.”

The DCE reaffirmed the Assembly’s openness to working with stakeholders and benevolent organisations whose interventions would help accelerate development and improve the welfare of the people.
