Ningo-Prampram District Assembly Holds Statutory General Assembly Meeting

The Ningo-Prampram District Assembly has held its statutory General Assembly Meeting to deliberate on key governance, policy and development issues aimed at accelerating socio-economic growth in the district.

The meeting, held on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at the Assembly Hall, was convened in accordance with Section 27(1) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), which requires District Assemblies to meet at least three times each year to discuss matters relating to local governance and development.

The session, presided over by the Presiding Member, Hon. Ebenezer Narh Addo, recorded full attendance by Assembly Members and Heads of Departments.

Addressing the House, the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Raphael Uriel Nartey, presented a comprehensive review of the Assembly's activities and socio-economic performance during the period under review.

The Assembly considered and approved the Report of the Executive Committee, which contained recommendations on policy, administrative and development matters submitted by the various Sub-Committees.

Members also approved the Revised 2026 Composite Budget to align the Assembly's financial projections with prevailing economic conditions and ensure adequate funding for priority development programmes outlined in the District Medium-Term Development Plan.

In addition, the House approved the Draft 2026 Annual Action Plan, which outlines projects and activities to be implemented across departments and decentralized units during the 2026 fiscal year.

The Assembly also received and considered draft bye-laws from the Justice and Security Committee to strengthen local governance, improve sanitation enforcement and promote law and order within the district.

In his closing remarks, Hon. Ebenezer Narh Addo commended Assembly Members and Heads of Departments for their constructive contributions and urged all stakeholders to ensure the timely implementation of the resolutions adopted during the meeting.
