The facility is expected to provide a dedicated space for persons with disabilities to hold association meetings, discuss issues affecting their welfare and undertake activities that promote their unity and development.

Speaking in an interview with GhanaDistricts TV during the commissioning, Hon. Paul Oase Offei explained that the centre was constructed to improve the well-being of persons with disabilities and provide a suitable environment for their association meetings to take place smoothly.

He noted that the facility would serve as an important meeting point for members to discuss their concerns, share ideas and plan initiatives aimed at improving their livelihoods.

The MCE further encouraged persons with disabilities in the municipality to join the Disabilities Association to enable them to be identified and reached with government interventions and support programmes designed for their benefit.

He stressed the importance of belonging to the association, explaining that organised membership would make it easier for the relevant authorities to reach beneficiaries and ensure that persons with disabilities have access to available government assistance.

The commissioning of the centre underscores the Akuapem South Municipal Assembly's commitment to promoting inclusion and improving the welfare of persons with disabilities in the municipality.

The facility is expected to strengthen the association's activities and provide members with a more convenient environment to meet, collaborate and pursue their common interests.
