“One of our major problems is the road network. We want to appeal to you through the Member of Parliament to consider the road network from Gbevekope junction through Dagbakope to Dadame to be done immediately.”
Mr. Ahianyo made the call during the celebration of the 13th ‘Agbleza’ festival at Dadame-Deve, which focused on the theme “Deve’s Future in the Hands of its Youth.”
He explained that, if addressed, the situation would help the communities in the area, whose residents are mostly farmers, transport farm produce from their farms to the main market in the Municipality.
Mr. Ahianyo indicated that the area has vast land for commercial farming purposes, adding that it remained necessary for the government and other investors to come to their aid by introducing mechanized farming methods to enable them to farm on a large scale.
He stated that the community must also benefit from agriculture projects initiated by the government such as the ‘Akukornkitikiti’, Cassava Production, and others.
“We also pray that the Municipal Assembly would help us put up a CHPS Compound in our community, since the closest one is a bit far away from us.”
The event, which attracted prominent personalities and traditional leaders including Togbe Dorglo Anumah VI, Paramount Chief of Avenor Traditional Area and President of the Avenor Traditional Council, was also aimed at raising funds to complete a community center project which started some three years ago.
Mr. Ahianyo, who is also a businessman, appealed to Torgbuiga Dorglo to initiate steps for the peaceful installation of a traditional leader for the community.
He assured the Traditional Council of their loyalty and compliance with every directive for peaceful coexistence.
Mr. Daniel Dagba, the Akatsi South Municipal Chief Executive, who witnessed the celebrations, enumerated several government policies and projects spanning from infrastructure, road network, health, agriculture, and others in other to bring rapid growth and development to the various communities.
He assured his people of the government’s continuous support for the area’s growth.
Togbe Dorglo, on his part, commended Mr. Ahianyo for his enormous support to the Traditional Council.
He called on parents to prioritise the educational needs of their children, where he further appealed to farmers to embrace the modern methods of farming by engaging Agriculture Extension Officers for assistance.
Togbe Dorglo also called on the youth to equip themselves with technical and vocational skills, stating “these are the best ways we can embrace in bringing change to our area.”
