She said the Assembly, working together with the Member of Parliament for the area has also taken into account the welfare of public sector workers including teachers and nurses and have built teachers' and nurses' quarterses to ensure readily available accommodation for them. However, staffing remains a major concern.

Touching on the state of development projects, the DCE disclosed after meeting the Local Government and Rural Development Committee that after touring and inspecting boreholes and other infrastructure inherited from previous administrations, she discovered that some projects documented as completed turned out to be nonexistent.

She said "in some communities, I found that no boreholes had been constructed despite records indicating otherwise. I am taking my time to verify all projects to ensure our people get what truly belongs to them,” she stated.

Challenges

Madam Tagba speaking on some constraints in the district identified poor road network as the major one which she said get worse when the rains set in as communities get cut off due to lack of drains, culverts and bridges.

“As a mother, I understand how difficult it can be during such times. Many communities become inaccessible when it rains. Even constructing culverts and bridges will help people cross to the district capital for healthcare and other economic activities,” she noted.

She however, assured that the Assembly will soon operationalize the DRIP machines to put the roads in a better shape

“My drip coordinator is on standby, and very soon, the system will be in full operation,” she concluded.

She appealed to the government to intervene in their road infrastructure to make plying them more comfortable.
