President John Dramani Mahama has submitted the names of two new ministerial appointees to Parliament for approval, alongside the reassignment of two existing ministers.

The appointments come nearly one year after the August 6, 2025 helicopter crash that claimed the lives of two ministers, leaving their portfolios under caretaker leadership.

New Appointments

1. Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology - Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings (MP, Klottey-Korle)

2. Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs Mahama Ayariga (Majority Leader)

Reassigned Ministers

1. Ministry of Defense Kenneth Gilbert Adjei

2. Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources Ahmed Ibrahim

The nominations were announced by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson to the President and Minister of Government Communications, in accordance with Article 78(1) of the Constitution.

Parliament is expected to vet the nominees in the coming days.
