After the successful planting of the five million seedlings on June 11, 2021, the Forestry Commission has targeted to increase the number of seedlings to intensify the green Ghana agenda.
Planting and nurturing millions of seedlings to restore the forest cover and enhance a green Ghana, various entities joined forces, including the Forestry Commission (FC), Ministry of Land and Natural Resources, and Municipal and district assemblies on Friday, June 11, 2021.
Madam Martha Kwayie-Manu revealed this, when addressing a gathering at the commissioning of the YEA ultra-modern office complex in Sefwi Wiawso in the Western North region.
According to her, 20 million trees will be planted on Saturday, June 11, 2022, in this year’s edition. This will meaningfully strengthen the agenda of the Green Ghana Project.
She asked the YEA to extend its support once again in the 2022 edition.
Also, she urged all Ghanaians to provide the essential services to support the initiative, and for this, she hopes; if all engage in the project, the targeted 20 million seedlings would be exceeded.
However, Madam Martha Kwayie-Manu cautioned the youth to beware of fraudsters when seeking jobs at the Forestry Commission and advised them not to tolerate any form of money requests for jobs. She urged all to seek the appropriate agencies and institutions for employment.
She said the YEA is there to serve all, especially the youth. So, when seeking jobs, the appropriate agencies and directorates should be contacted to avoid any form of fraud.
She further urged all parents and guardians to be careful and vigilant when their wards ask for money to apply for jobs.
“They should also consult the right agencies to seek job opportunities for their wards,” she added.
