The visit provided an opportunity for the Minister and her delegation to engage directly with fisherfolk, listen to their concerns and gain first-hand insight into the challenges confronting them and the fisheries sector in general.

The engagement also focused on identifying practical measures to address the concerns of fisherfolk and improve their livelihoods while promoting sustainable development within the sector.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Pru East, Mr. Abdul Nassir, together with the Member of Parliament (MP) for Pru East Constituency, Hon. Emmanuel Kwaku Boam, reaffirmed their commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at empowering fisherfolk, strengthening the local economy and accelerating development in Yeji and the wider Pru East Constituency.

They expressed their readiness to collaborate with the Ministry and other relevant stakeholders to improve the welfare of fishing communities and create sustainable economic opportunities for residents.
