Industry
The industrial sector is made up of the manufacturing, energy, construction and mining sub-sectors and all these activities can be found within the municipality.
Mining and Quarrying
So much exploration has not been made to uncover the mineral deposit in the municipality but because of the rocky nature of some parts of the municipality, it is suspected to have mineral deposits. However, there is a major quarrying activity in the municipality. The rocks in this municipality are mainly sedimentary and quarrying is not as difficult as other types of rocks.
Agro Based Industries
Because of the absence of agricultural storage and processing facilities in the municipality, the agro based industries are minimal. The only few agro based industries use local technologies in processing their raw materials. Cassava processing.
Energy/Water
The Ghana Water Company and the Electricity Company are found in the municipality. The Weija water Reservoir and Treatment Plant that serve about half of the population of Accra is located in the Municipality. Fuel (petroleum) filling stations are located mainly along the Weija Kasoa road and they provide petrol, diesel, kerosene and liquefied petroleum gas. This is an indication that the municipality is set for growth and development and investors can take advantage of that.
Manufacturing
The manufacturing sub-sector of the municipality has so many prospects for the growth of the municipality. There are a significant numbers of welders, tailors, carpenters etc in the municipality. The Panbros salt industry that serves a very significant number of Ghanaians is also located in this municipality. This is because there is an increasing demand for manufactured products as a result of the increasing population. There is a tendency for those in these medium and small scale industries to grow by providing them with loans. CAITEC, PHASTOR, ASUOGYAMAN, TROUCELINA CO. LTD, BLOCK FIELDS, FLOOR ZONE, ETC.
