Small Scale Industrial Activities (SSI)
The promotion and development of SSI activities in the district constitute a vital component of establishing synergetic relationship (strong link) between agriculture and industry. The following groups of industrial activities can be found in the district;

Problems of Raw Material Supply
According to SSI owners in Bole, the following were some of the pronounced limiting factors towards the smooth supply of requisite raw materials.
1.Inadequate working capital
2.Scarcity of raw materials especially during certain periods of the year
3.Poor road networks which often leads to high transport cost
4.Inadequate finance to expand production
5.Delay in consumer payment
6.Inadequate raw materials
7.Lack of machines/equipment
8.Lack of organized unions
9.Lack of ready market for finished products
