Bole District Road Safety Committee formed
The Bole District Road Safety Committee has been formed at a brief ceremony at the Bole District Assembly Hall.

The formation of the Bole District Road Safety Committee is in compliance with a directive by the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development.
Speaking to Bole based Nkilgi Fm, the Savannah Regional Director for the National Road Safety Authority Mr Safianu Abdul-Rahman said all Districts in Ghana have formed Road Safety Committees to regulate or bring road safety to the door steps of the Community so that the Community cannown it and come up with homegrown solutions that will tackle the issue of the menace of carnage on roads.
He also ssid the composition of the Committees is such that it draws from the broad spectrum of the society with the Chair of the Committee being the District Coordinating Director.
He said Members of Bole District Road Safety Committee include a representative of the National Road Safety Authority and representatives from the Bole Local Transport Union, the Bole Traditional Council and the Bole District Police Command.
He said other representatives are from the Bole District Local Media, the Road Agencies in Bole, the Bole District Health Services, a Representative of Assemblymen and the Bole District Assembly Transport Officer.
The Savannah Regional Director for National Road Safety Authority Mr Safianu Abdul-Rahman said the Bole District Road Safety Committee is a nine member committee that is supposed to come out with the best strategies to tackle road safety in the District either through programmes or activities that are drawn from the top and then brought down to the base for implementation.
He said; “the farmers have deliberately taken out the politician, that is the District Chief Executive who is the political head of the Assembly so that any intervention that is coming up will not be given any political colourisation.
Mr Safianu Abdul-Rahman added that the work of the Committee is independent, bipartisan and not tainted with any political colours and their interest and mandate is to make sure that they tackle road safety and make sure that all road users abide by the regulations and make sure crashes, injuries and deaths are brought to the barest minimum.
