Oti Region tops in child labour

The involvement of children in economic activities (usually described as child-labour) remained a major topic of concern in many parts of the country.

However, the 2021 Population and Housing Census put the Oti Region as the region with the highest involvement of children in economic activities; more than six times the national figure of 3.2 per cent.

The situation is also prevalent in five other regions including North East, Savana, Upper West, Northern and Upper East regions.
