According to the acting district director of the Commission, Mr. David Kumogsua Dubong the exercise was aimed at forging unity between the contending parties, discourage needless rivalry, diffuse tensions and to promote peace and tolerance.

Officials of the Commission took the opportunity to take both players and spectators through the negative effects of vote buying, the need to avoid misinformation, disinformation and the use of intemperate language, the need for religious and political tolerance as well as the negative effects of electoral violence.

They also encouraged the people to endeavor to exercise their franchise on the voting day adding that even those with missing voter identification cards could do so once their names can be found in the register.

They admonished the electorate to avoid the use of party paraphernalia at the polling station or engage in any act or utterance that can lead to disturbances.

The NCCE called for responsible jubilation after the declaration of results to ensure peace even after the elections.

Leaders of the 2 groups thanked the Commission for the opportunity and promised to ensure peace during and after the elections.
